Updates Galore!!!

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Hiya folks! I am very sorry for the lack of updates…

I’ve just returned from Seattle last week. To be speaking at Casual Connect Seattle 2010 was really an honor! It was a great experience, I get to share and learn a lot of cool stuff from experienced developers, and also meet and hangout with a lot of cool people!

Me with Boomzapians & Hozay
Mr. Shen from Mochimedia
Mr. Shen from Mochimedia!
Jameson & Ada from Mochimedia
Jameson and Ada Chen from Mochimedia

I also got the chance to meet with Andy Moore, the creator of Steambirds! However, I didn’t get to take a picture with him…darn it!

Now about Planetary Conflict
I guess we have to push back the open beta for Planetary Conflict, I was a bit busy with preparing visa, tickets, and materials for my talk for Casual Connect Seattle 2010 that made a few task to fall behind schedule (sorry)…and other than that we’ve also stumbled upon some technical obstacles. Even so, the project is still going strong and the rest of the team have been very busy working on it, day and night…without sleep nor food, I even bought special ankle chains to tie them to their desks BWAHAHAHA *maniac laugh* (I was just joking btw…no developer were hurt during our game development process, but we are working really2 hard)

I’m very sorry that I couldn’t fulfill my promise for Planetary Conflict’s open beta in July, for that…I’ll be spending a month in “THE BOX of SHAME!” as punishment…but then again, since we need everybody to work on the game, maybe not (yippie!)

No worries, I do have something to show to you! Here’s an early look into the game that we’ve been working on.

Keep in mind that this is only the earliest Alpha version, a lot of stuff are still being worked on so you can expect to see a lot of bugs. We are also still trying to get as many artwork completed and implemented as possible…and yes the shopkeeper is a COWBOY, he’s there as a placeholder until we can find a cute chibi girl to replace him. Let me know what you think about the feel of the game from this alpha version, your feedback is very valuable!

And one more thing, we’ve been interviewed by PC GAMER magazine Indonesia and we’ll be featured in an article…I’ll talk about it more on another post.

This is it for now…Kris over and out!

Toge goes to Casual Connect Seattle 2010! wohoo!

So, on one sunny April day…

I was sitting in front of my computer doing “work” (what i mean by work is playing tons of games…for research purposes of course!)…when I suddenly receive an email from an advisor for the Casual Games Association!…*dun dun dun* (sound effects for dramatization)…the email can be summarized as: “Hey, cool Infectonator game! I want you to speak at Casual Connect Seattle 2010, interested?”. And my reply can be summerized as: “Hell yeah! wohooo!”.

3 months later, I’ve got my visa and my passport…and “all my bags are packed, ready to go! b’cause I’m leavin’ on a jet plane, don’t know when I’ll be back again…” (actually i’ll be back on the 29th, that was a spur of the moment kinda thing). Anyway, since this will be my first journey to America representing Toge Productions and my first time speaking in front of international game developers…a celebratory ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT-YAKINIKU-AND-SUKIYAKI-DINNER seems appropriate :)
